The NextGen Global Coding Champs are here!

By their sheer aura and stature, some mega-events have the distinction of creating waves around them even long before they kick-start. The TCS flagship global coding contest CodeVita surely belongs to this league. The season 8 grand finale had gained momentum well ahead of the D Day i.e, 20th February 2020. The contest that is jointly hosted by TCS CTO team and TCS Talent Acquisition is now synonymous with competitive coding that takes on real life problems.

A whopping 230 thousand plus registrations from 89 countries. More than 100 thousand global participation. Aren’t these number staggering? It doesn’t get bigger than this, or so we thought, as we always do each year. But the global mania that CodeVita has become over the years, we have been proven wrong, all along. For, the contest has been consistently breaking it’s records in terms of the reach and scale.

The award function unfolded at the prestigious and swanky Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra auditorium in New Delhi. The venue looked resplendent as it was decked in all the grandeur of CodeVita branding. The distinguished and eminent personalities from Embassies, High Commission, Indian Government graced the function. TCS also took this opportunity to felicitate their esteemed academic partners.
Some of the key TCS Leaders who cheered the finalists and handed over the awards were:

  • Mr. Tej Paul Bhatla, VP & Global Head PS INDIA, Center Head Delhi
  • Mr. S Janardhan, Global Head, Talent Development
  • Mr. Milind Lakkad, EVP & CHRO
  • Mr. Ananth Krishnan, EVP & CTO
  • Mr. Girish Nandimath, TCS India Head – Talent Acquisition Group


And, all eyes were on the winners:

  • 2nd Runner-Up - Tan Jia Qing from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, Malaysia
  • 1st Runner-Up - Ali Khosravi from RMIT University, Australia
  • Winner - Sheng Yu Hang from National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan


While the Winner was rewarded with a cheque of USD 10,000/-, the 2nd Runner- up and 1st Runner-up won USD 7,000/- and USD 3,000/- respectively. Additionally, the finalists were also awarded internship opportunity with the TCS Research team.
